There are days when you just want to get away from all the stress of work. That would include any reminder of the electronic gadgetry that you have at the office. This is not to say that all these new devices add to your everyday stress. Just that sometimes, you have to lay back and have some personal space.
Some people do that in their den, while others have to go out back of their house and try to get some free time away from the phone, the fax machine or the computer.
A throwback to a slower lifestyle might be needed in such a case. In some instances, just seeing something which is rural and bucolic might relieve some stress. A case in point would be a backyard fireplace, complete with a flue or smokestack, and a place to grill or barbecue.
Admittedly, if you’re hungry, a microwave would do a better job than the fireplace. But seriously, would you want to get warmed over by being near a fireplace or by a microwave? Thought so.
